Winjet

In a way, you can definitely say from paper so many things have started. A relativity theory from Einstein, a telephone from Grahambell and a flying paper airplane from Wright brothers. Aeroplanes have come a long way since it kick-started. But, all you need to start here is from paper airplanes. Let’s make a winjet design to achieve journey further…

Two minutes for Noodles! isn’t it? Three minutes for Paper planes! It’s that simple with liftndrift*

Supplies Required:

  • A4 Sheet of Paper or a Foolscap Paper with 70-90 GSM
  • Ruler or Flat thick object to flatten the folded edges to make a strong crease.

Step 1:

  • Keep the A4 sheet in portrait mode over the table
  • Fold it into half – right to left and unfold as shown in the Fig.1

Step 2:

  • Now, you have to fold the right edge straight to the centre and do the same for left side
  • Make a firm crease
winjet step 2

Step 3:

  • Now fold the right top corner edge to the centre line and the left top corner to the centre line
  • It should form a triangle as shown in Fig.3

Step 4:

  • Now the rectangle below the triangle has the two open sections
  • Fold both of them outwards till they reach their limit lines.
  • For your reference, check the Fig.4

Step 5:

  • Now, Mountain fold the Plane to the backside and check for the winjet symmetry.
  • Make sure the centre line doesn’t cross and unfold

Paper plane facts: “Paper planes have the ability to travel 50 feet with just a gentle toss”

Step 6:

  • Exactly about 1 to 1.5cm below the triangle fold it downwards and make a crease
  • Refer Fig.6 for help my friend

Step 7:

  • This step is for your clarity
  • You have to fold mountain fold (upside) the nose which is folded in the previous step Fig.6
  • Now, Unfold them. You will be seeing the Fig.7
  • If not, Please redo from Step 1. LOL!

Step 8:

  • Going ahead on winjet, you have to fold the top right corner to the centre line and also the top left corner to the centre line just as shown in the Fig.8
  • Make the crease firm

Step 9:

  • Mountain fold (upside) the pointed nose
  • Ensure the tip meets the straight centre line.

Step 10:

  • Now fold the plane into half to the backside
  • Make sure both half is similar to each other

Step 11:

  • Check Fig.11 the nose angle change bend and the tail angle change bend are the lines to fold
  • Fold them as shown in Fig.11
  • Now fold the other side too

Step 12:

  • That’s it, It is all ready to fly! Go on my friend win the sky!

Make More! Fly More with LIFTNDRIFT

Winjet flying technique:

  • Keep your left foot slightly forward and launch it in 30 – 40 degrees angle, throw it steadily with a medium force. If it fails, tweak the tail wing slightly up and try again.
  • Try different angles and forces now! Wow, That’s how one learns properly with more trying and flying. Kudos!
