A million-mile journey of aeroplanes starts from a single step! Yeah, you guessed it right! It is Paper airplanes! Begin your journey with a simple paper airplane to understand its science, and aerodynamics of them. Basically, Narrow wings and Planes fly faster, Longwings fly gently and peacefully. Galaxia is a narrow-wing aircraft that has a higher speed when you launch. Also, they are capable of reaching farther distances. What are you waiting for? Scroll down to learn how to make a Galaxia Paper airplane!
Two minutes for Noodles! isn’t it? Three minutes for Paper planes! It’s that simple with liftndrift*
Supplies Required:
- A4 Sheet of Paper or a Foolscap Paper with 70-90 GSM
- A kid Friendly scissor if you cannot slit the extras by hand with accuracy.
- Ruler or Flat thick object to flatten the folded edges to make a strong crease.
How to Make a Square Paper?
Keep your A4 sheet vertically like a portrait rectangle over the work table or floor. Grab the top right sharp edge to match the left side of the paper straight. Now cut off the bottom remaining piece of the paper with scissors Refer to the picture below for your doubts.
Step 1:
- Keep the A4 sheet of paper in Portrait orientation and fold them from Left to Right equally as shown in Fig.1
- UNFOLD them once done.
Step 2:
- Bring the Top Left-hand edge and Top Right-hand edge to the centre crease
- Make sure you don’t cross the centre line
Step 3:
- Now, bring the right and left diagonal edges to the centre crease as shown in Fig.3
- UNFOLD them once it is done.
Step 4:
- Fold the Right and left edges on the newly made crease as shown in Fig.4
- Make sure you matched the edges to the newly made adjacent crease
Step 5:
- Now, Roll fold them back again inside, Just like the picture Galaxia Fig.5
Step 6:
- Look at Fig.6 the distance from the Nose to the bottom of the triangle
- Divide them into three and fold 1/3rd of the section down
Step 7:
- Mountain Fold the paper airplane into half as the arrows directed but check for their symmetry
Step 8:
- Its the time for making the wing – The Length of the wing should match the length of the fuselage
- Fold the Diagonal top section to the straight bottom section – Straight to straight and Fold it
- Do the same for the other side too
Step 9:
- Lift the wings up to make it look like ‘T’
- Compare Fig.9 and Fig.10 for your reference
Step 10:
- Galaxia is ready for the show, Let’s dive into the fun!
Galaxia flying technique:
- Hold the Plane behind the centre of the plane’s gravity centre
- Keep your left foot slightly forward and launch it in 30 – 40 degrees angle, throw it steadily with a medium force. If it fails, tweak the tail wing slightly up and try again.
- Try different angles and forces now! Wow, That’s how one learns properly with more trying and flying. Kudos!
