Airplanes do have control surfaces which makes them move in different axis and planes. That is helping the airplane to reach countries and continents. But do you know paper airplane designs also have CS and when you add them in their design they perform different tasks. Deformation in control surfaces causes your plane unstable and loss of maneuverability. This plane that we gonna make now is called Slide go – Wonslide. Let’s make them easy and study them come on!
Two minutes for Noodles! isn’t it? Three minutes for Paper planes! It’s that simple with liftndrift*
Supplies Required:
- A4 Sheet of Paper or a Foolscap Paper with 70-90 GSM
- A kid Friendly scissor if you cannot slit the extras by hand with accuracy.
- Ruler or Flat thick object to flatten the folded edges to make a strong crease.
Step 1:
- Keep your A4 sheet vertically like a portrait rectangle over the work table or floor.
- Grab the top right sharp edge to match the left side of the paper straight.
- Please refer the Fig.1 if you have any confusions.
Step 2:
- Now cut off the bottom remaining piece of the paper by scissor and if you do just by looking at my writing instructions, it may disappoint you.
- Please refer the Fig.2 for cutting.
Step 3:
- Fold the Square sheet to half upside and unfold
- Now, Fold the A section to the center crease that you just made and unfold
Step 4:
- This step needs your complete attention, just be with me completely
- Take the Bottom Left hand corner B to the upper crease, but you should not cross the center crease
- Yes, that’s it. Simple right? Now, go to next step
Step 5:
- Now you have to bring the Top left hand corner C from the dot to dot as shown in the Fig.5 in the direction arrow pointed
Paper Airplane facts: “Difference between Jet airplane and a Paper plane glider is their thrust“
Step 6:
- Now, bring the nose of the slide go plane to the dotted line point
- If you don’t know where that dotted line will come in your plane. Just look at the Fig.6 for 10-15 seconds to understand the distance from the nose
Step 7:
- Happy? Moving ahead you have to fold the plane once again to the bottom line as shown in the Fig.7
Step 8:
- Fold it once again along the crease that is already there
- Now you have to fold the wings together on the backside. Refer Fig.9
Step 9:
- Now, its the time for making the wing. Fold the plane along the dotted line evenly.
- Do the same for the other side. That’s good! just slide go!
Step 10:
- Lift the wings now gently
- You are good to go for a fly ride now! Also, check the flying technique for How to make a Paper Airplane
Make More! and Fly More!
Slide go flying technique:
- Keep your left foot slightly forward hold your plane in the thicker part of the fuselage right behind and launch it in 30 – 40 degrees angle, Give it a quick toss. If it fails, tweak the tail wing slightly up and try again.
- Try different angles and forces now! Wow, That’s how one learns properly with more trying and flying. Kudos!
